Tata Teleservices (Maharashtra) has been fined INR 64,000 by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) due to Unique Identification Code (UCC) violations in Q1 FY2024-25. The company is currently assessing the penalty order received on April 10, 2026.

The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has denied similar relief to Bharti Airtel and Tata Teleservices as granted to Vodafone Idea, leaving them with a significant debt of ₹10,000 crores due by March 31. Failing to pay could result in contempt of court charges.
